Hi everyone, my name is Ash.
Hi everyone, my name is Ash.
I was born and raised in Utah, where the mountains have always felt like home. There’s something about them that grounds me, quiet, steady, and a little mysterious, which probably explains a lot about me.

I’ve been a true crime enthusiast for as long as I can remember. My mom first introduced me to the TV show Unsolved Mysteries when I was about four years old, and I’ve been hooked ever since. What started as childhood curiosity eventually became something much deeper: a genuine interest in understanding cases that remain unanswered and the stories behind them.
Some of my favorite memories are tied to true crime and the bond it created between my mom and me. We would spend hours talking about cases, coming up with theories, and trying to piece together what we thought really happened. We shared true crime books back and forth, constantly recommending new ones to each other and discussing every detail after we finished reading them. This became something special between us, and I’m incredibly grateful to have those memories of her. They’re a huge part of why true crime means so much more to me than just a hobby or interest.
For nearly 10 years, I’ve also been part of the online true crime community as a web sleuth. A web sleuth is someone who researches and discusses cases independently using publicly available information, everything from archived news articles and court documents to timelines, interviews, maps, and digital evidence. Web sleuths often work collaboratively in online communities, sharing theories, organizing information, and helping keep attention on cases that may otherwise be forgotten. For me, it’s never been about sensationalism. It’s about seeking answers, honoring victims, and making sure stories are not lost to time.
That interest became even more meaningful when I began working at a juvenile detention center. It was there that I realized I didn’t just want to follow true crime as a fascination, I wanted to study it. In 2021, I went back to school to pursue Criminal Justice, and I am now continuing my education as I work toward completing my master’s degree.
I created this blog because I wanted a place to bring everything together, my curiosity, my education, and my desire to shed light on cases that often go forgotten. Cold cases of all kinds deserve attention, reflection, and respect. These are the stories that stay with me long after I read them, the ones that make me wonder, analyze, and question what really happened.
These are the cases that keep me up at night.
